A Little Bit About Me
Hi my name is Jane I am an Integrative Counsellor. This means the Counselling Course I studied in included learning different approaches and these are; the Humanistic Approach, Person Centred Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Counselling and I am able to use and adapt these interventions to meet the client’s needs. My philosophy and the core of my counselling belief, is each person is the master of their own destiny and given the right tools and environment can gain; the strength, confidence and empowerment to bring about the change they are looking for. The service I offer is in a warm, relaxed, safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment.
As a qualified Counsellor I have worked as a volunteer and continue to work as a volunteer. I work with clients who have suffered; loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and negative thoughts, suicidal thoughts, panic disorders, separation, divorce and relationship issues. I believe given the right environment of feeling safe, relaxed and comfortable and being able to talk to someone in confidence. Gives the client the confidence to be open and explore their worries.
I have worked within the care sector for 30 years. I have worked with people in various settings and with changing needs. I feel this has given me a greater understanding of how diverse, individual and unique people are. When a persons needs change this can be a worrying and stressful time. The difference of having someone to talk to, be listened to and someone being there to help them with their worries/issues can make all the difference.
